3 reasons to move to Swampscott
There are many reasons why you should think about moving to Swampscott. This is a great little seaside community perfect to raise a family or even spend your retirement years. Here are 3 of my top reasons why you should move to Swampscott.
Swampcott Beaches
Swampscott has some of the best beaches in the North East. Historically known for being the “it” place to spend summer vacations, the long stretch of sandy beaches are still incredible. You must be a Swampscott resident in order to gain access to the beach parking (except at Fishermen’s). This tends to keep crowd levels to a minimum and beach days feel like a neighbor gathering.
I made a few videos explaining the many different types of beaches in town so you can tour along with me…
Preston Beach: Preston is a beautiful sandy beach located on the Swampscott/Marblehead line near “Beach Bluff” This beach offers a long stretch of sand.
Fishermans Beach: Located near the historic and still operational Fish House and Swampscott pier, this beach has its own unique character. I love this beach for a quick pit stop to sun bathe or to have the kids run around and explore. Swimming at this beach is usually a bit more difficult since it has the most seaweed, there are plenty of things to see and do. The town even offers a kids sailing club that gathers at this beach early mornings in the summer.
Eismens Beach: Eismens is one of my personal favorite beaches in Swampscott. Located in somewhat of a cove, it is super easy here to sit back, relax and enjoy the calm ocean.
Phillips: Phillips Beach is the most popular beach in Swampscott for town locals. Located near the prestigious country club, this secluded beach offers plenty of fun with white sand and huge waves. Life guards are on duty here during the summer.
Close to Public Transportation
No matter where you live in Swampscott, you are certain to be within walking distance to the train or bus. This is a great feature especially if you work in Boston. Swampscott offers a small town community feeling with ease of commuting.
Simply put in your headphones, listen to your favorite podcast (mine is a good one J ) and have a nice beautiful walk to the train.
Great local Businesses
Swampscott is full of small local businesses where the owners not only work in the town but they live here as well.
Places like Lincolns Landing a great little breakfast place located on Humphrey street right across from the beach. You can almost always see the owner and it’s a great place to stop in for an awesome breakfast or lunch.
This cozy gem offers amazing cuisine. It’s awesome to see the chef whom is also a Swampscott resident, plate some unique dishes. I love being able to support a local place and help the community grow.
