My Recent Review of Captians Pizza in Swampcott –
First, I must admit, I do frequent this place pretty regularly. It is one of my favorite go-to places for a good Greek style pizza.
I was there recently to review and my experience was as expected since they are pretty consistent with their food and service. I phoned in the my order of two large cheese pizzas (requested them to be cut in slices), and a chicken kabob salad. The order taker was quick and to the point (no time for sweet talking lol)Plenty of parking when I arrived and the food was ready for me at the time told over the phone.
The pizza itself is pan or greek style and the sauce/cheese is on the light side. I loved the texture and airy crust. The only negative is that it takes me eating more slices of this type of pizza to fill up than Italian style. Probably because of the light airy dough…
The chicken kabob salad came with the usual fixings plus feta, onions, their homemade dressing and a half slice of pita bread. Absolutely love their chicken kabob. Super delicious marinate and not at all dry. Kind of wishing the pita bread was a bit better as its always pretty chewy and never enough to go with the salad. I’m pretty sure this is made somewhere else and brought in. However, the salad itself is so good it doesn’t matter much to me
